Looking to expand the number of Paleo sites I read daily. What are your top three, or if you have more than 3 that are worth noting, include those as well.

Other than PaleoHacks, I like to check out CarbSane and then compare and contrast with Kruse or Peter/Hyperlipid. Seriously, I just go to Emily Deans' site and follow interesting links from there. – Dave S. May 21 2012 at 16:35

This is a great question. Obviously Paleo Hacks is close to if not in the top 3 for me, but that seems unhelpful to your question, so here are my three as of now:

  1. robbwolf.com --> disclaimer: I tend to listen the podcasts a lot more than I read it
  2. marksdailyapple.com
  3. jackkruse.com

Honorable mentions:

  • chowstalker.com ---> pic blog / recipes
  • Summer Tomato --> not Paleo, but some good stuff too
  • Sugar: The Bitter Truth --> It's just a video, so not a daily read, but I had to throw it on here. Gets into the science in an understandable way. Great to share with people considering Paleo.

  1. robbwolf.com -- Robb's the man. I absolutely love the podcasts.
  2. cholesterol-and-health.com -- He's not as regular blogger as many of the other common names, but Chris Masterjohn is a genius.
  3. wholehealthsource.blogspot.com -- Stephan Guyenet is spot on with the majority of his stuff. He's not plagued by any of the typical dogma that so often seems to affect the gurus.

Sheer entertainment value: freetheanimal.com COMMENTS SECTION.

While I believe Guyenet is highly respectable and intelligent, and is very good at explaining his thoughts and ideas, I won't go as far as you to say he is spot on. I don't see his pursuit of "food reward" as any less dogma than Taubes' CIH. He has presented food reward admirably, even if he still outright fails (despite trying) to explain the difference between reward and palatability. Dr. William Davis in fact has done a far better job at explaining food reward mechanisms of wheat on the brain. – wildwabbit May 21 2012 at 8:57
Good call, I don't really see the difference between food reward and palatability. It's one of those things where all palatability falls under food reward, but not all food reward falls under palatability, I 'spose. I did state however that the "spot on" designation covers just the majority of his stuff, and perhaps his failure to delineate specifically his theories is his failing. Nonetheless, I think his analysis of the subjects presented on his website is excellent. – Potato Avenger May 21 2012 at 14:33
Yes, agree 100% there. – wildwabbit May 21 2012 at 14:40

  1. Paleohacks - Non-stop banter.
  2. Chowstalker - More recipes than you'll ever have time to make.
  3. 4 way tie for: Chris Kresser, Robb Wolf, Mark Sisson & Richard Nikoley's blogs. Though I really prefer just reading tweets from those few, occasionally venturing over to their blog when something strikes my fancy.

My ranking is more by tiers; were the top tier I check every day, second tier a few times a week and bottom tier every once in awhile...

Tier 1: Marksdailyapple.com, Robbwolf.com, and Paleohacks.com

Tier 2: Bulletproofexec.com, Chriskresser.com, Freetheanimal.com, and Perfecthealthdiet.com

Tier 3: Livinlavidalowcarb.com, Carbsanity.blogspot.com, and Huntgatherlove.com

That pretty much sums it up, a pretty good mix of Paleo perspectives!

My top sites are not really paleo. 1) Whole Health Source 2) Perfect Health Diet

There is no clear site for the third spot. It was MDA for some time. It could have been Archivore, but there are no articles. It can be gnolls.org, daily lipid, paleo guy, or Chris Kresser.

I am sorry but for me most of the low carb sites are way to single dimensional.
