I measure and weigh myself for competition, and I have noticed after being Paleo for almost 2 years now that my weight in around 8lbs heavier, given the same measurements. This is most definitely muscle and doesn't bother me, I was just curious if you noticed these same effects as well.

I was by no means skinny fat or overweight before, so it's kinda crazy to me that my composition has changed so much for the better. My six pack says thanks for Paleo.

I am by NO means a figure competitor, but a few years ago I weighed about 5-6 pounds more than I do now but was leaner. :-/ Trying to get back there but stress and lack of sleep are doing a number on me. – Amy B. May 23 2012 at 20:28

Yeah, I'm pretty confident that just cutting out seed oil increases sexiness by a factor of like 15.

I mean, just look at me. – Kasra May 24 2012 at 0:37

I ate paleo during my formative years and when I was I desperate to gain weight. I attribute much of my results to eating this way. Muscle is more dense than fat, so swapping fat for muscle will reduce your size. That is why one can look like a dancer with clothes on, and then a fitness model with them off (i.e. not being emaciated but toned and tight).

I thought I was being coy about the fitness modeling. I guess I didn't disguise my question enough. (Paleo hackers are generally a bit put-off by that type of training/ideal). – Ashley May 23 2012 at 17:52
Actually I didn't catch on. :/ I just thought you were a figure competitor cause you said "competitions." I think people are put off by it because they see it as just crash dieting- which can be the case, but definitely doesn't have to be. A good fitness model maintains their composition year round, and that's not a crash diet. – foreveryoung May 23 2012 at 18:39
Agreed. And it's a lot easier when you eat paleo. I definitely don't binge on the crap I used to after a show to "reward myself". Partly because I'm Celiac. I compete in fitness, though. Not figure. – Ashley May 24 2012 at 6:28
