This is for the people that did INSANITY. Is it sensible or somewhat effective to bulk up on the recovery week of the workouts since month 2 is going to be insane?

I have done INSANITY and I would not recommend "bulking" ever unless you are severely underweight/anorexic. Recovery is different than bulking, and adequate recovery is all you need. Shaun T recommends drinking your recovery shake (it's just sugar/dextrose and whey protein mix) during the workout (which is not very intense to begin with) and then just eating regularly and resting adequately. Personally, I don't drink a recovery shake during workout, but do post workout. Also, bulking without adequate resistance training would probably leave you with more body fat than desired regardless of how dialed in your diet is. Just my two cents.

i didnt do core cardio&balance i did MAX interval sports training along with crossfit every other day, i just thought to take this week to basically put more nutrtion in my body, because i have been in a calorie defeciet for about 3 monthes now – mike May 25 2012 at 18:09
Hey. I don't think it's wise to do go for too long in a calorie deficit. HAve you tried implementing carb refers 1-3x per week? I have found those to work well for me. On those days I eat more fruit and add in starches like potatoes or rice. You might like them as it breaks up the monotony from dieting and also probably keeps your metabolism from downregulating itself. – foreveryoung May 26 2012 at 1:30
i do carb refeeds once a week or once every 2 weeks, depending on how much energy i have. it usually consist of both brown and white rice, white potatoes and sweet potatoes, and rolled oats, along with every type of fruit i can get my hands on. since month 2 requieres more energy, is it recommended that i do refeeds twice a week? – mike May 26 2012 at 20:24
