This is for the people that did INSANITY. Is it sensible or somewhat effective to bulk up on the recovery week of the workouts since month 2 is going to be insane?

I have done INSANITY and I would not recommend "bulking" ever unless you are severely underweight/anorexic. Recovery is different than bulking, and adequate recovery is all you need. Shaun T recommends drinking your recovery shake (it's just sugar/dextrose and whey protein mix) during the workout (which is not very intense to begin with) and then just eating regularly and resting adequately. Personally, I don't drink a recovery shake during workout, but do post workout. Also, bulking without adequate resistance training would probably leave you with more body fat than desired regardless of how dialed in your diet is. Just my two cents. |
