Hi! I can't seem to lose weight and the paleo front is compelling. However, I'm extremely allergic to the following:

Eggs Seafood Nuts coconuts

We are talking hives, anaphylaxis.

So... Like what would I eat for breakfast?

Thx!

Just omit the things you can not eat and incorporate everything else you can. Paleo is a self designed way of eating, no need to 'follow it exactly' just adapt the principles and eat whats good for you! I eat breakfast for lunch and or dinner sometimes, so why not try dinner or lunch for breakfast! – Kelly May 26 at 23:38

Alergic to the egg whites, yolks or both? – Eric Jun 10 at 1:02

I think you should base your meals around red meat, lamb, chicken, liver, vegetables, fruit, butter

There's nothing wrong with a steak for breakfast!

And if she can do dairy, home-made goat kefir will help with intolerance and other things. Eventually, I believe that if she stays on such a regimen for a long time, some of her allergies will go away. At least for seafood and eggs, I'm hopeful, nuts less so. – Eugenia Jun 10 at 1:11

Bacon, mushrooms, tomato and onions. Perhaps a sausage or two?

Fruit, veggies, homemade breakfast sausage, chicken, steak. I am allergic to a lot of things too but you can make it work. Get some paleo cookbooks for ideas or look online for meal ideas.

For breakfast, lunch and dinner you can eat anything you are not allergic to. Are you allergic to beef? Chicken? Pork?

I don't eat eggs (I have read they are not good for autoimmune), nuts (they bother my stomach), coconuts (ditto) and seafood (not allergic but too expensive).

Today I had salmon and sweet potatoes for breakfast.

Haha, don't eat seafood but salmon for breakfast? I know what you're saying though. She could do sweet potatoes and beef/chicken/pork/turkey/duck/lamb! – JeJ Jun 10 at 3:32
Seafood meaning clams, lobster, etc. Salmon is not that expensive (twice as cheap as seafood) and I eat a little bit once in a while. – VB Jun 10 at 5:10

Who says you have to start the day with eggs? After all, isn't breakfast just a break from the fasting that you had while you slept? Back in my college days, breakfast was often pizza left over from the night before. And I still eat leftovers for breakfast, but now it's of the paleo type. :)

I've moved to cold cuts and tomatoes, cheese and a couple of slices of cucumber. I tried sausage but was too heavy for me in the morning. Thanks so much!
