So, yeah. I ask a lot of GERD questions on here. Mainly, because I want to get rid of this blasted thing. Here's the question: recent events have stressed me beyond reckoning (friends alienating me, school, several successive bad relationships--surprisingly, not work), and it's been very hard to get the Robb Wolf eight/nine hours of dark sleep at night. How much does this affect the recover for an issue like GERD? For the record, my GERD no longer walks me up during the night (I used to wake up with that wonderful devil's-got-his-hand-in-your-heart feeling), so it's not that that is the issue anymore. But it still seems to be lingering a bit. I've maxed out the recommended dosage of HCL, which tells me my digestive system is wrecked, and both my doc and herbalist feel my GERD is stress-related (they KNOW it's diet-related, but they also know I'm doing paleo, so they're not worried on that end). Admittedly, I have cheated a couple of times (not in terms of eating SAD, but breaking the autoimmune protocol: nuts, nightshades, dairy, ect.)
How long have you been paleo? It took several months for my GERD symptoms to finally stop. I still have flareups if I cheat and eat a little too much dairy. I am pretty sure it would come back full force if I eat gains at all.
