Recently all the evidence has been pointing to coffee as bad for my stomach and increasing my cold sore recurrence but I cannot (will not) give it up.

One of my greatest joys in life has been bulletproof coffee for breakfast most days but I wonder at what point I will have to accept that the pain simply isn't worth it and have to start drinking chickory or some other depressing psedo-coffee drink.

What is your no-give up food/drink?

Protein shakes. I know they're full of chemicals and that I shouldn't drink my calories, and I should eat whole protein...but they really do cure all sugar cravings PLUS keep me full for ages after!! and it's basically just protein :)

The occasional beer. About a packet or two of splenda a day (berries + cream + splenda).

I don't have problems with dairy, so I'm good with cheese. I also don't considercoffee that bad.

I miss ice cream.

wine & hard cider. I'm okay with giving up glutenous and glutenfree beer, it took a while to get there but I'm okay with it, now. I also work with wine, ordering the whole bit.

Why is coffee considered bad by so many people? Haven't you folks ever had good coffee? I've given up drinking bad coffee, I'll stick with good coffee and stuff from my french press. And, I won't call it harmful, I'll call it awesome!

None. I used to love ice cream, pancakes, eclairs, muffins and chocolate. But I'm completely done with them. Too low carb intake + lots of stress + my extremely bad relationship with foods are now taken care of. Even in stressful times I don't really crave them anymore and after a long struggle I'm not eating foods again to give me a happy feeling. There are way better ways. Whenever I think about it now, I can't stand to chuckle and think "You silly thing" or something like that.

And to top it off, I've some tablets (400g) of my used-to-be-favorite milk chocolate in my fridge that makes me happy like in the old days, without the suffering afterwards, just by looking at it and realising "I don't need you anymore". Even thinking about it now makes me smile big time.

Screw it keeping your house clean of junk to make sure you won't eat it.

If you really want to throw it out, you can. In the past I was always whining why these delicious foods were unhealthy, why others could eat them without discomfort, etc... And eventually every now and then I would end up binging on them. But at some point enough is enough. I'm in control of my life, not food. – Sam Jun 1 at 15:23

update: I have finally decided to have coffee as a once in week treat as opposed to a daily item. – MrsD Jun 6 at 18:54

The occasional beer. The not-so-occasional red wine and coffee.

Sugar-free gum - probably not going to give this up. Coffee - I'm going to try to cut back now that it's summer. Also I occasionally eat ice cream, watermelon and corn on the cob, although not at the same time. I had fresh cut french fries with ketchup & vinegar at an amusement park Sunday. They didn't taste as good as I remembered them though. Actually the ketchup was the best part haha.

I have yet to be able to give up my Dr. Pepper completely. I still have two a week. Which is much better than the six I used to drink daily.
