A week or so ago I had bloodwork which showed very low testosterone (less than 0.5), the odd thing was that all my other hormone levels (ok, not ALL, but my FSH, LH, TSH etc) were normal.

This morning I had a seizure. I have done some research, and low test is common in people with seizures. I also have menstrual periods which last 1 day for the past 3 months, general fatigue and muscle wasting, issues concentrating, weight gain in bum and hips.

I am going to see my doctor today and hopefully an endo soon, but was wondering what some of you higher ups have to say, or if anyone else has encountered similar problems.

I fight the urge to take matters into my own hands here (via Arimidex or Clomid etc). I know this sucks, but slow movement of medical intervention is hard to deal with.

Are you low-carb? – Kasra Jun 5 at 20:34
I am low-carb, usually between 25-50 per day. Are you getting at Diabetes? If so, I have been continually tested (my sister is type 1) and am consistently negative. – Ashley Jun 6 at 1:11
I didn't know women were supposed to have higher levels of testosterone. Wouldn't that cause you to bulk up a bit and get a deeper voice? – primallykosher Jun 6 at 2:32
@ Primallykosher, no it doesn't. That would happen at much higher doses. Free Testosterone of < 0.5 is not optimal (its too low) closer to 1.0 is often best but definitely should be >0.5. I am on testosterone Hrt since mine was <0.01 and even on Hrt mine is now only 0.5 at last test and before that was 0.7. – Crowlover Jun 6 at 4:41
Thanks Crowlover. How did you convince the doc to get you the testosterone HRT? Mine hesitates because I am only 25. – Ashley Jun 6 at 6:38

Ashley do you have an update regarding the testosterone? Did your doctor help you?

DOctor didn't do much of anything. I have just been dealing with symptoms using a mix of diet, training and have actually found some help with 2000UI Vitamin D. – Ashley Aug 15 at 7:04

Ashely thanks for this info. I had no idea there was a link. Many women are low (and men)...kinda an epidemic.
I hope you have a good doctor for bio-identical hormone replacement. Although now that I think of it, not sure there is a "bio-identical" for testosterone Hrt. I am on a generic compounded Testosterone as well as Bio-Id hrt for progesterone and estrogen. I do know that coconut oil is meant to help reduce seizures as well as making sure your Lithium level is good. I learned this info from Integrative MD, Jonathan Wright.
Good luck
