Since this was from a year ago, I'd like to re-ask the question. Is ZC safe short term? I'm doing it for a week, now I have one more thing to stress about. I can't stress out over everything people, I need something to eat damn it!

Hard to believe I'd do irreversible damage in such a short time, but as usual, I read way too much on the stuff.

There isn't any evidence that it's harmful long-term, much less for a week.

For most people, though, a week isn't long enough to get over the carb-flu, so you'll probably feel a little wonky for the duration.

Nah, you're falling into the trap of thinking that ZC is ok for everyone. It isn't. The "low carb flu" that you think other people are suffering is really from glucose deficiency, not from the failure of implementation. You need to stop thinking in terms of one-size fits all diet. Not everyone can wear the same ZC hat. – Mambo Jun 8 at 13:52

@Mambo: As far as I can tell, "glucose deficiency" is just something Paul Jaminet made-up in order to sell a diet book. He may be right, but there's no evidence for it. – Sam Knox Jun 8 at 14:06
