Hi, I'm new here so I wanted to share and hear your stories as well. I have been gluten-free for 2 years and now I am sort of paleo (although I still can't completely give up certain dairy products and a little honey). I've been on this current path for more than a month.

I am most grateful for how I feel (which is much better!), and I like the fact that I am getting my youngsters involved to give them a head start on this way of life.

The last thing is that I am thankful for guys like Robb Wolf and Mark Sisson. I feel like they really want to be there for the community and be active in helping others. I really appreciate their dedication to all of us. I know there are many others in the field but so far my experiences with these guys in particular has been positive in nature.

ps: I was really happy to hear my question answered by Robb on his Podcast 50, my question was #8. I think his podcast is super, Thanks Robb!

What about you??...

and the second part of the question--knowing what you know now, will you do paleo for the duration of your lifetime?

I am so grateful to have finally experienced what it is like to have a healthy level of hunger and not crave sugar all the time. I didn't realize how addicted I was until I broke the addiction. Before, I would think about eating sugar and starch almost all the time. My whole waking life consisted of cravings and my trying to resist them so as not to overeat and get fatter. I often thought about how soon was the next meal when I would finally have an excuse to eat again.

Now I only feel like eating when my body really actually needs food. I can eat a normal amount, feel totally satiated, and have the satiation last for a long time. In fact, for the first time in my life, I find it hard to overeat! Before, I could always clean my plate, but now if I have too much food, I have to either save it for later or give it to the dog. Now my relationship with food is healthy and not stressful and the dog is happier too! ;-)

Nine months.

I'm fairly strict, fairly low-carb, fairly re-enactment oriented.

I enjoy being twenty pounds lighter, and having blood pressure in the low normal range for the first time in twenty years. Having halved my fasting blood glucose is a nice bonus, as are the big improvements in my lipid panel.

I'm fitter, stronger, my energy levels are better, I don't get afternoon blood sugar crashes anymore, I'm calmer and less anxious, and I look better naked.

And I did this with no meds and without killing myself in the gym.

I've been Paleo for almost three months. I've lost 10 lbs. I am grateful that I could wear a size 12 red silk dress to my 50th high school class reunion earlier this month and feel great in it. Got lots of compliments. There was a buffet meal and I took a little fish and ate a salad. No one but me cared what I ate. I was not there to eat, but to see and be seen. It was fun.

It has been about 20 months, started with baby steps ( Atkins, to the Warrior diet- then Paleo). Almost 100 per cent Paleo now - I stll use a minor amount of diary but only raw sources of milk and local cheeses. I have never felt better, stronger or even younger ( Im over 50 ). No question this is what I should have been doing a long time ago. I'm a diabetic who takes no meds anymore. I don't even like the taste bread or even looking at it anymore.

Paleo is health.

I'm not very dogmatic, I like grass fed cream and butter. My life has changed dramatically for the better. I try to inform others but they won't hear it. I guess I should just consider myself a member of the informed elite. Oh well.

I know how you feel Christie, I want to share and I try. But then I get sad with rejection so I choose to remain tightlipped on the whole thing. – PrimalStyle Oct 24 2010 at 5:54

I've been Paleo for about 4.5 months. I'm grateful I found a lifestyle that is effective and relatively easy. I've been making weight loss progress right out of the gate.

I'm grateful for Russ Roberts who featured Art De Vany on his podcast "EconTalk," which is where I first heard about the whole idea. While listening, my brain clicked and said "Oh yeah, DUH!" I set a date to start and haven't looked back.

I'm grateful for guys like Robb Wolf and Dr. Cordain, whose work reenforced what I heard from De Vany. I bought Wolf's book after I was sold on the idea and already lost a lot of weight just to support him.

Hey what the heck is up with DeVany's site wanting $39.95 a year to read his posts?? I'm sorry but I just don't want to pay for it. I know they have to make a living but that is a total turn-off. There has to be another way to pull in income. – PrimalStyle Oct 23 2010 at 16:48
I can't justify the cost either. I'll probably buy his book when it comes out. – Carl_Stawicki Oct 23 2010 at 16:55
I just purchased Robb's book today. I'm certain it's going to be a dynamite read! – PrimalStyle Oct 24 2010 at 5:55
