Does it count as a fat? A nut? A fruit? I am confused. I try to avoid lots of fruit (FODMAPs) and nuts/nut butters/seeds, but I stil Eat copious amounts of coconut butter, thinking it is neither. Am I wrong? Also, I understand coconut oil is good for digestion. Is the same true for coconut butter?

Coconut "butter" is simply ground up coconut. – FED at LiveCaveman.com Jun 16 at 19:20

Coconut butter is ground coconut meat. Various brands contain more or less fat. A coconut is a seed. The juice inside is the endosperm. It slowly consolidates to form the stuff we call the coconut meat.

Coconut butter is also called coconut cream concentrate or coconut manna! :)

It is delicious! =)

Re: whether coconut butter is good for digestion - I stopped eating it when I realized it was giving me more bloat. I think it's one of those individual things.
