According to this link: http://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/2010/10/antifreeze-in-your-ice-cream.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheHealthyHomeEconomist+(The+Healthy+Home+Economist) they can add antifreeze and piperonyl and other crap to your food and then not list it in the ingredients, as long as the not listed ingredients are considered 'industry standard' for that food. If true, that means that even if the ingredient listing looks good, there could be all kinds of crap in there that is not listed. THe only way to know what might be in there is to know the industry standard for all the kinds of food you buy. Anyone else know anything about this? I didn't find any other references to it on a google so am not sure about the correctness of this statement.

OK, looks like this may have been true up until 1993 at which time they made new laws against it: http://www.enotalone.com/article/8068.html |
