I don't want to be gross, but when I go, it's tiny round balls.

Sorta 'neat', because there's not a lot of clean up, but I don't imagine that it's a good thing.

What's the minimum amount of fiber I have to eat to change this up? I juss hate veggies.

What are your fav fiber suggestions? My diet is mostly meat, fermented veggies, most carbs would come from honey in tea etc.

Unless it is really hard to pass, I wouldn't worry about it. Try drinking more water.

That just sounds like dehydration. – Happy Now Jun 18 2012 at 7:27

Welcome to PaleoHacks!

If your poop comes out easily and smoothly then I wouldn't worry. Fiber is one of those controversial things in the paleo world. Some find that they need a lot of it. Some of us do fine with less. Some Paleohackers don't consume any fiber. Most important to poop formation is the amount of good bacteria in your gut.

We've all been programmed to believe that we need to poop two or three times a day and that the poops should be big. Well, if you're eating lots of grain and lots of fiber your poops will be big and you don't want to be backed up. So, you only need to worry if you're getting constipated, developing hemorrhoids, or having rough poops.

right on! pooping comes easy so i guess i shall not worry too much. it's just not that emergency situation that i remember happening when i ate lots of grains. those were some impressive bowel movements. – bbnett Jun 18 2012 at 2:05

No, just because you're low-carbing and eat mostly meats doesn't mean your poop should be rabbit pellets. If so, every low-carb hound would be pooping like that. It's only a subsection, but I might add, a pretty noticeable subsection, that has this problem. Enough to be an epidemic but since this isn't exactly a topic for a dinner conversation, it's stifled. In short, fix it: it's constipation. – Mambo Jun 18 2012 at 3:20
Sol, he's not talking about the small volume of the poop but those rabbit pebbles. The distinction is defining for constipation. – Mambo Jun 18 2012 at 3:24
@mambo - good information. thanks. – Sol Jun 18 2012 at 4:01

Forget fiber and eat your vegetables whether you like them or not. To paraphrase some of my favorite authors, you're all grown up now, eat you veggies. Also try some raw fermented foods like raw sauerkraut or kim chi.

One large raw carrot a day might help you out.

Berries! Raspberries, blackberries, strawberries...

Do you not like berries?

How about some flaxseed meal? Its high in fiber.

Are you drinking enough water?
