I'm just getting started. Can anyone give me any pointers on how you made the switch? Are there menu's available to shop and cook from? Should I start with some sort of fast? How do you get over the carb addiction? I am on a tight budget, how do you do this on a budget? Any help would be great!!

Google is a great place to start. I really liked http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-blueprint-101/ as a nice informative but not too detailed description. There are plenty of eat and do not eat lists out there. There are many threads here on budgeting - buying in bulk when a certain item is on sale, joining a local co-op and going to farmers markets is a good start. I buy most of my meat from www.grasslandbeef.com. If you sign up for their newsletter, about twice per month they have a 15% off discount code and everything I have ordered from them is excellent. Get roast bundles or steak bundles. Good luck.

Well, I think different things work for different people. The biggest problem for me was that the change was so overwhelming that I had to cheat, then I got discouraged and threw out the whole diet. If you are like that, they try for baby steps. Try your best to cut out sugar/wheat/dairy, but don't be too strict.

On the other hand, maybe you're better with a 100% change after fasting? IDK, it depends on what works for you, but it may be a good idea to sit down and think about how you personally do things, what works best for you, where your weak points are and why you have quit diets in the past.

There aren't many 'menus' out there that you can follow. There a lot (hundreds maybe) of blogs where people put paleo recipes. You just need to collect ones that you like and start making them! There are also paleo cook books that have been published.

Getting over carb addiction can take a little while (a week or 2 maybe) just follow a strict Paleo diet and you will get there quicker. If you prefer to ease your way in the effects of withdrawal won't be as noticeable.

There are many posts about how to do paleo on a budget try searching this site or other sites. As Jackie said marksdailyapple.com has advice for nearly every question you have asked, including where to get started. To cut costs you can try and shop in bulk, and buy grain-fed beef instead of grass-fed.

my suggestion would be to just read, read, read. one blog will lead you to another. keep reading! try what works for you. read the primal blueprint and robb wolfe's website. start slow and don't give up!

Regarding budget - if you follow a diet like the Perfect Health Diet http://www.perfecthealthdiet.com then you will eat only the adequate amount of protein for you.

Eating a lot of excess protein you really don't need is an easy way to drive up the cost of a Paleo or low-carb, or any diet.

Good luck.
