Due to financial circumstances I have had to spend the last month or so off of paleo. Not normal poor but trying to feed two people on about $3 a day poor. It has truly sucked. I can hardly wait for my paychecks to start coming in again. Luckily I have managed to tread water with my weight in the meantime but I feel like garbage all the time. My heartburn has come back and I am a fart machine. I am also planning on getting a juicer for vegetable juices as I love juice. Not really a question just a rant.

I'm sorry you're having a rough time. You might want to consider the cheaper cuts of meat that most people won't want. My local Mexican grocery store has all sorts of parts of chickens, pigs, and cows for $1/pound or $2/pound. – Sol Jun 18 at 23:11
Animal fat can be really cheap as well. My local Whole Foods sold me pig fat for $2/pound. I've gotten lower-end grocery stores to give me fat for free in the past. – Sol Jun 18 at 23:15
I love my local butcher. The sad part was while the meat like that is cheap it doesn;t get sold ion less than $5 increments. I literally mean $3 a day, not $21 a week. Frekin sucked! – Ender Jun 18 at 23:36

Eggs, ground beef, frozen spinach, rice, and whole chickens are what we did when we were that poor. Do you have any spices? I would recommend roasting a whole chicken ($5-$7), then cutting it up to eat off of for the week. You can then use the bones to make stock and have chicken and rice soup with spinach. Mix eggs and ground beef for meatloaf, or served a poached egg atop hamburgers. I also would but beef in bulk, divide it and freeze it.

I wish I could, yes I have a ton of spices. I did do quite a bit of rice. The closest we could really stay was eggs and rice. Unfortunately most of the time I did not have $5 to buy a chicken. Was literally getting about 3 bucks a day for food for 2. SOmetimes a little less, sometimes a little more. – Ender Jun 18 at 23:34
