I have been doing paleo for a few months now. Before paleo, if I had ice cream and curry (not together, please) it would shock my system so that I would deeply regret it. My sleep would be really bad, I would be irritable, and I would have terrible should pain when trying to sleep on my side.

Now, I can do a meal with heavy curry and cookies and cream ice cream, way too much even. But no shock to my system. If I do the same thing the next day (I can resist anything except temptation.), I get a shock to my system.

This means that paleo is strengthening me in ways that I would not even imagine in my wildest fantasies.

Have other people seen this in themselves.

I am also way less irritable in general and much easier to live with. Anyone else?

Eating clean for a while has probably allowed your gut to heal, making you better able to tolerate certain things.

That is what I thought. I can't wait to tell my wife!!!! My eating curry was the kiss of the death of harmony in this family for a very long time. Charles Darwin, Weston Price, Loren Cordain, et. al., thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!! I had so much freaking curry two days in a row (and it was sooo good). Perhaps 6 bowls full, and as much ice cream, and I did not hardly get even the slightest bit irritable. We should note our victories when they happen. – bachcole Jun 20 at 2:37
