Me and my girlfriend were doing Paleo together for the first time and gave it a good try but now I really don't feel right. The past 2 days I've had a tight feeling in my chest/esophagus, pressure in my upper stomach.
It started 2 days ago where a simple belch relieved the mild tension and I forgot about it. That night I snored louder and harder then ever before (girlfriend tells me) and she was actually worried about it. The next day I'm driving and the pressure of my ribs pushing down on my stomach is very uncomfortable. Lying down eases pressure. I have constant feeling of needing one good belch to ease the pressure but this has been going on 2 days now.
The last 2 days our fat intake got even higher. I started eating exactly what was on Robb's nutrition list in his book for the first two days but I decided to branch out on my own after. Maybe a very bad idea, but was eating lots of beef (fairly lean cuts), bacon, breakfast sausages, and also more fruits and veggies then ever in my life. Also eating lots of rotisserie chicken. We ate salads, avacodos and were working towards just getting 1 solid week of paleo in before starting exercise plan.
Anyways this problem in my chest is bothering me. I've never had anything like it before. Sitting in certain positions is fine, standing is awkward and a bit of a stretch and draining. My bowel movements have been totally off..almost non-existant. I was fully expecting some weirdness doing Paleo for up to 2-3 weeks, but the way this makes me a little short of breath with the tightness worried me so much I had to give it up for now. I'd like to find out more about it and I hope it goes away in a day or so. I have to work tomorrow and I don't know how I'll do standing and moving around all day. Please help. I considered seeing a doctor but read up alot and decided it's probably indigestion, stomach acid problems, GERD or acid-reflux as many people reported very similiar reactions. I just don't know what caused it.
3 new things we added in the days leading up to the extreme [whatever this is]
1) diet dr. pepper. my stomach has had diet soda in the past though, but maybe the acidity and chemicals? 2) possibly excessive bacon/sausage, even for paleo (newbies) .. too much grease/fat? even though i tried to pat the excess off 3) fish oil supplement. only other thing that was 'new' around this time.
