How should I eat tomorrow to give my body a break from a really protein heavy day? Fast? Carb-heavy day? Business as usual? Or does it matter at all?
I just entered my food from today into Cronometer - 177 grams of protein. Yikes. I am 5'6, 120 lbs.

You don't need to balance it out. Drink water. |

In my opinion, it depends what you are doing on your other days. I tend to do an extremely high-protein/relatively high-carb day every 4-5 days. Usually after a heavy lifting day, I'll re-feed within 24-36 hours with a good 200 grams of protein and up to 200 grams of carbs. After that, I'll drift back to very high fat, moderate protein, almost ketogenic for a few days and then work in a 24-hour fast. It then cycles. Creates a good variance and it allows me to really time nutrients and within a span of a few days pretty much eat everything I desire. All of it "Paleo" and all of it pretty well-timed, IMO. If you can find a plan like this that you can work into your personal/work/social life, it will really alleviate having to really count anything or give up anything. |
