Hi everyone , I'm on SCD cause my ibs , I'm avoiding all sugars , cereals , carbos , dairys and legumes.

I started pale 1 month ago , but I I continued to eat a lot of dark chocolate per day at the same , so I had a lot of sugars and carbos.

Now i'm completely sugar and carbos off , Since 5 days , it was VERY VERY difficult to cut the chocolate off , It's like a drug , especially after lunch or dinner , I feel that my brain need it , but I'm still resisting .

I have constipation , so I started with boiled carrots , but I FEEL VERY WEAK , Very weak and I feel a super chocolate desire from my brain.

In Italy is't preety hot now and this don't help for sure.

I drink a lot of water , I don't eat fruit ( for the first period ) and I eat bone broth.

I use a lot of olive oil.

I'd like to know your opinion and also your advices , I'd like it very much!

Edit: Another question--for how much time should I stay SCD ? I hope not a lot!!

Stay Paleo...

You probably have the "low carb flu" or you aren't eating enough calories. When you quit eating so many carbs, you have to make up the lost calories with fats or you'll be in really bad shape.

During the period that your body spends switching from using glucose as it's main fuel to using fat (in the form of ketones) as fuel, many people feel pretty awful. It lasts a few days to a few weeks depending on the person.

Solutions: Eat more fat to get your calorie intake up to a reasonable level. Add extra salt - a couple of grams a day. Add salt to your bone broth. Be patient with yourself. If you do heavy exercise, tone it down until things get easier.

Carrots actually have a fair amount of carbs.

A quick Google search tells you what SCD means. If he typed Specific Carbohydrate Diet, would you still need to look it up? Google is your friend... – MathGirl72 Jun 23 at 15:56
And it could mean Slow Carb Diet, aka Beans and Veggies. – Bill1102inf Jun 23 at 15:58

I don't think anyone does Slow Carb for IBS/digestive issues. :P – Roth Jun 23 at 22:30

Everything Karen said, plus you might want to take some glutamine to help with the cravings.

And olive oil is good but saturated fat is a lot better. Can you get your hands on some coconut oil? That's a great source of energy.
