Just got some fasting labs back. My fasting bg and insulin were way too high a month ago so we retested to make sure I don't have "pre-diabetic" condition, and/or Insulin Resistance, and/or Leptin resistance
There's improvement in glucose and insulin from a month ago when it was last tested - the difference is that I am no longer vcl rather more "low carb" (less than 100 grams) These are fasting levels:
GLUCOSE 91 (was 98 a month ago)
INSULIN 5.9 (was 9.0 month ago)
LEPTIN 8.3 (is this optimal or just OK or what?)
A1C 5.4
REVERSE T3 30.9
My other thyroid values are optimal. Vit D level is 77
Of interest to me is that I cannot lose one pound on the low calorie (1300 average), low carb, high protein and high healthy fat diet I have been on. Its really pissing me off as I know for a fact that if I was doing say Weight Watchers (low fat, high carb) and eating unlimited fruit all day I would lose the extra 6-9 pounds of FAT that I need to lose.
No I do not having an eating disorder
Yes I am being realistic.
Anyway would love any input, opinions, impressions or facts related to the above and particularly related to the metabolic stuff.
I do not know what is ideal for Leptin.
Thanks a million
