I need to loose weight bad and fast. iv heard that the egg ONLY diet works, So how many days would i need to fast on only eggs to loose my goal of about 20 pounds?
Eating only one kind of food (eggs) is not healthy. You are going to miss out on vital nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, fiber, essential fats and amino acids. Egg diet may work because of its high fat and protein content, which keeps you satiated. You are likely to consume fewer calories because basically you get bored eating the same thing again and again, which decreases palatability of the food. You may lose weight, but in a sick, miserable, gassy way. And then if you go back to your previous way of eating that promoted storage of extra fat in the first place, you will gain all the weight back and maybe more.
Paleo Diet is also high fat and protein. However, we eat to optimize health by avoiding anti-nutrients and increasing the intake of vital nutrients in vegetables, fruits and protein/fat sources. It's not a diet. It's a fun, healthy way of eating. A lot of people improve their health and also lose weight on paleo.
If you care about your quality of life and overall health, you wouldn't want to try that eggs only diet.
Eat a wide variety of meats, fish, eggs, and vegetables and you'll get there nearly as fast, but with better results in both the physique and health department.
Extreme diets usually do lead to a return gain because of the intensity of them and then the hormone rebound your body goes through afterwards. Like someone mentioned, all eggs would probably be pretty uncomfortable, but I did hear that it is the diet that Renee Zellweger used to lose her Bridget Jones's Diary weight. She ate like 6 eggs a day which is super low calorie and barely a carb. So it works, but that doesn't mean it doesn't take a toll on the body. Maybe try IFing with one very low carb meal a day. That helps me get on track pretty quickly if I have fallen off the wagon. I actually think you'd be better off just straight water fasting if you wanted quick weight loss, but as others have warned, it will come back if you aren't careful and haven't learned what you personally need to do for your body to keep off the weight.
its sad that none of these people have answered your question. I hate when all you request is a simple answer but instead people give you their opinion. Sooooo. Unhealthy yes, risky yes, worth it yes (if done right) . The egg diet will make you lose weight and it will be fast. Most people have had testimonies of 7-1-lbs per week. As mentioned by many others here, you do take a high risk of gaining the weight back quickly, but thats only because many people dont know how to handle crash diets. Your body is so use to taking in less than 500 calories/ day on this diet, so what you do is after a crash diet, eat healthy but limit your calorie count. Take in an additional 100 calories per week until you are back to normal range and youll never see that weight again. Here is what I did: Week 1: egg diet Week 2: egg diet (i was 17lbs lighter) week 3: 650 caloried /day week 4: 700 calories /day week 5: 750 calories /day (etc) its hard work, and it sucks that you really have to diet in the long run but the bottom line is, you lose up to 20lbs in 2 weeks and diet to keep it off. THATS how the egg diet (crash diets) work.
Hi Rtj2013, may you please tell me how did you do your egg diet? How many eggs a meal, how many meals a day? Did you do like 2 eggs at breakfast, 2 eggs for lunch, 2 eggs for dinner? How did you cook them, hard boiled, omelet with veggies, scrambled with oil/butter etc.? I really want to do this egg diet and follow your protocol. Thank you so very much.
I like the last post. lol
Eggs are a great way to lose tons of weight. I have a friend that is a biochemist. I did some talking with him about a few diets. The egg diet came up and he agrees that the diet if you solely live on eggs is unhealthy. But you add a few things to this diet that are low carb and you are good to go. Results vary of course but seem to be pretty rapid. People worry about the high cholesterol in eggs. the fact is you need carbs for the cholesterol to build in the body. Same with the fat content of eggs. No carbs equals less fat that stays in the body. Nothing can be converted into glucose and in turn the body reacts with releasing the fat stored and re-metabolising it back into glucose that the body can use. Which is what I was told makes you lose weight. You also want to drink nothing but water, maybe some tea, and a few cups of coffee. Water is essential. I have started this diet. I eat about 12-14 eggs a day. doesnt seem to matter how much you eat but you need to eat them. I also add in a burger with no cheese and no bun. A little seasoning and that is about it. I still intake between 5-10 grams of carbs a day. as there is some in eggs but its like 0.04 grams (give or take) depending on the eggs and how they are prepared. But some extra green beans from time to time dont hurt as they also have carbs but not nearly as much a slice of whole wheat bread.
So this doesnt get to long. I will end with the diet really isn't that bad. It is very do able. And you seem to stay fuller longer with the high protein and all. Stay away from soups, breads, and any carb ridden drinks. Find foods that are good that you like that are low carb. Read and eat. Learn what your body likes and what it doesnt. this diet does work and it isnt unhealthy as people think it is. The first few days you may feel sick from starting this because you glucose is being taken from your cells instead of threw intake of food. This is because your sugar levels (which are important while dieting) change gears and switch from food intake to cell leeching.
there is a bunch of scientific stuff that is involved. Just dont over do it and you will be fine. It is safe but don't over do it. As a life style of only eggs can be harmful.
