I have had a side effect ever since going paleo 9 months ago, and I've sort of ignored it because it's not exactly pleasant to dwell on it, but it does concern me. Not necessarily because of the thing itself, but because it might mean I'm not doing something right or I'm not actually healthy.
Ever since going seriously paleo (really more primal, as I eat feta cheese, butter, ghee, sour cream, etc.) I've noticed less ejaculate. I'm a 26 year old male, and up till paleo, I have always had gobbs of the stuff...even after 2 or 3 times in a day. Now, I'm lucky to produce a respectable amount the first time, and very little subsequent times.
As far as sexual fitness and libido, I did have some issues, but seemed to have fixed it by ceasing fish oil...I learned from this forum that too much fish oil can kill a young man's libido, and I read an explanation that it could have to do with estrogen suppression (go figure).
Anyway, I have experimented with carb re-feeds, thinking perhaps the fluid retention due to carbs might be a factor. I also use potassium and magnesium before bedtime, so I don't think it's a deficit of that.
So why when I go from pizza, fast food, and frozen processed crap to paleo, do I suddenly have less semen fluid volume?
Oh, and I've also experimented with using plenty of sunflower/pumpkin seeds. No difference.
I really doubt it's low t, as I have no other side effects of this and I perform fine. Also, I don't think it matters whether I'm "by myself" or with a partner. So therefore, I think it's something in my diet. Before paleo, I would also produce more with a partner, but still produced more by myself than I do now with a partner...if that makes sense..
I apologize for the rambling and explicit nature of this post...it's my first question since joining paleo hacks!
