Hey all, because I know everyone likes talking about poop...
I've been restricting my processed foods/sugar/carbs over the past month, incorporating more vegetables and protein into my diet before going paleo. 7 days ago I took the plunge and have gone "lacto-paleo".
For the first four days I also began incorporating digestive enzymes (these ones by swiss herbal). At this time, I pretty much ceased all regularity. Pooping once every other days and even then, it was not my regular "size" or firmness.
Worried about this, I stopped taking the digestive enzymes over the past two days and now I can't seem to stop going, it's not firm, and I swear to Jesus I just pooped a whole piece of kale.
What the heck is going on here? Anyone want to talk about my poop?
The first week I went Paleo it was bad. I was a salad shooter for at least 5 days and then I started taking a high quality probiotic, and by day 8 of the change everything started working right. I'd recommend picking some up and maybe trying full paleo before reintroducing the lacteo back in your diet to rule it out.
For me, even a slight change in my regular diet can cause some randomness in regularity, so it might just be a phase where your body is adjusting to the change.
I've also heard that not consuming enough fat or consuming too much protein can cause diarrhea. Try adding in some good fats to your diet.
On the other hand, you just went gluten free. And what you're describing sounds like a person with celiac or non celiac gluten sensitivity who is healing. You might like to poke around over at celiac.com
