If I sit down for more than 20 mins and sit up I have really bad pins and needles in my leg and foot it seems
This might be a cause for my dark circles as the blood stagnates under the skin due to poor circulation I've read
Other than exercise what are some good ways to get circulation flowing? Also what are some causes for poor circulation?
Could this also be involved with my poor skin and itchiness??
Dark circles = food allergy of some sort. Mine went away within weeks of removing eggs and dairy completely, as I found out I'm intolerant.
Cold hands and feet could be thyroid related, or adrenal fatigue. Get thee to a paleo friendly, recommended naturopathic/integrative doctor. Or look at chriskresser.com. We are not physicians, and speaking from experience: the interwebs is a horrible, horrible place to get any info on any medical issue. It is a sure fire way to become a complete hypochondriac.
Not that I know anything about that. Pfft.
Red wine seems to be the most effective thing other than exercise to get the blood flowing for me, especially in the winter when if I sit still I get really cold feet.
Once upon a time, I had a boyfriend who would make me espresso shots with cayenne pepper and cinnamon in them to get the blood flowing too because he was worried about my always bluish hands.
Have you been tested for anemia? Iron is what carries oxygen to our cells, and I definitely feel like I have worse circulation when I'm anemic (like before I started eating red meat and liver regularly, or after multiple heavy cycles). You could try a hunk of liver and see if you feel any better.
You may try some Horse Chestnut. It improves circulation in your extremities. I have ordered some but haven't received it yet.
