I've been very low on energy and muscle recovery following a very low carb/ high fat diet. Would introducing a couple of sweet potatoes every day help me out?

In a word, yes. If you're working out and at a normal weight I don't see much reason not to have a moderate level of carbs. |

It would, but another macronutrient that you should pay attention to in this case is protein. Have you made sure that you're eating enough protein first? Not enough protein is sometimes a problem with females since their previous diets usually steered them away from meat due to the "high fat" content. As a male it could still be an issue and you not know it. |

Most likely but the best way to find out is to try it. Best case it works, worst case it doesn't and you stop. |

Agree with Rob, make sure your protein intake is sufficient first. |

Was VLC/ZC for five months. Felt great mentally, but started to lag a bit physically (after initially improving). Sure rested/fixed my metabolism. Went leangains two weeks ago. 16 hr fast and BCAA pre workout. Downed a kilo of sweet potato (340g carb) with lean beef (over two meals), post workout days only. Rest days stay in ketosis with meat and fat only. Has worked wonders. Sleep, recovery, mood, libido, all improved. Workouts, I've broken three personal records in two weeks. Surging!! Bottom line: PWO, great, at rest, either before WO or other day, no good. Carbs work best when your body is hot, sweaty, worked, and ASKING for carbs. |
