I am a high level athlete who made the mistake a few weeks ago of having Kombucha. Little did I know, I also have Candida (wow, awesome). Needless to say I have been pretty messed up for the last bit and have gone very strict with my diet (usually keeping carbs around 20/day) to fight the Candida and avoiding the foods on the "avoid" lists.
Anyone have any tried and true methods to speed up recovery? I know you're not supposed to train heavy, but this isn't an option for me right now, and 2-3 days a week I have very high-intensity training, and 5 days a weeks of lower intensity weight/dryland sessions.
Supplements? Diet tricks? I would also love some longer term advice to avoid this happening again.

Well, more than just food to avoid, there are some great paleo-friendly candida fighting foods. Keep in mind that killing off candida too fast can produce a die-off reaction that includes symptoms like foggy thinking, headaches and chills.
If you want to go the supplement route:
Try Kelp extract supplements. They are one of the most potent sources of Iodine, which can aid the body in the fight against Candida. Also, eat seaweed!
Try Grapefruit Seed Extract capsules. This can also help repair liver cells that may be damaged by the release of Candida toxins in a die-off reaction.
Also, up your Omega-3 intake. Omega-3 fatty acids have anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-parasitic properties.
Up your carbohydrate intake. Many bloggers have pointed out that candida or fungal infections feed on ketones, so the last thing you'd want to do is be on a ketogenic diet. I personally had some of the worst fungal infections in my life when I was VLC (ironically to get rid of the fungal infections). My fungal infections improved when I upped my carbs to reasonable levels and reduced coconut oil. Your experience might be different but give it a shot, you never know. Plus the extra carbs will support your active lifestyle.
Caprylic acid is also very good for Candida.
On the pharmaceutical side of things, one dose of Fluconazole (brand name Difulcan) will do what 2 weeks of an anti candida diet would do. In the UK it's over the counter but I'm not sure where you are.
I have a yeast allergy so I have had to take diflucan when someone accidentally put vinegar/stock cubes or anything fermented in my food or I've eaten a mushoom by accident. Works very well but I try to restrict this to major allergy outbreaks as it's not good for the liver in the long run.
