hey y'all, i'm looking for something cheap, quick and effective, possibly foot soaks or a body spray, that i can make or buy. looking on the web i see so much marketing hype and weird info...
can i just make a transdermal magnesium "oil" using cheap epsom salts and water in a 2:1 ratio? would that work as well as this magnesium chloride?
can i add anything to the epsom salt water to make it more effective, such as baking soda?
are foot soaks just as good as full body application for muscle/joint soreness and recovery from exercise/stress?
links please if applicable. hopefully i can just do this with the cheap epsom from the local store.
The "oil" is just a supersaturated Magnesium Chloride solution. It is not so expensive if you find it in a health food store. You can also make your own by getting the flakes. This is especially good if you have a leaky gut, since it goes through the skin. Epsom Salts are also wonderful and cheap for baths. You could also encapsulate Epsom salts and take it internally as a cheap Mg supplement. If you take too much you will get the runs and I would be sure to take it with food. Full body soaks are better than foot baths, but make sure to make the water strong enough and only stay in about 20 min. Dr. Singha's mustard bath is good for soaks too, and you can double it up with Epsom Salts.
yes i think using epsom salts in place of the magnesium chloride will be just as effective. when both MgSO4 and MgCl2 are mixed with water they break down and the magnesium is the same in both forms. sharon
I use the brand that she recommends for transdermal application. Ancient Minerals, I believe. I order it from Amazon.com. I also use Concentrace Minerals. You can put that in your liquids and food. It tastes awful, so use it sparingly. I do foot soaks with Epsom Salts almost everyday now. It's a cheap, easy way to go. You can find Epsom Salts anywhere, but I recommend that you supplement with the oil too.
