So...is anyone here into hypothetical thinking about doomsday / armageddon scenarios? This is admittedly not the most helpful hack, but bear with me (or vote to close!).
Survivalism
How good are you at surviving without electricity? Catching your own food? Fighting zombies?
The hidden danger of weight loss?
Imagine that you spent the last year losing a ton of weight. Like 50 pounds, or even more, which isn't a stretch for some people on here. If there was a famine (unlikely) or the food or water supply was made toxic/tainted/whatever (a little more likely?) or there was a nuclear winter (ack!) then you would for once in your life potentially benefit from some extra fat as energy stores. What a bummer.
Emergency food storage
Some people have emergency stores of dried and well-preserved foods. Anyone here do that, and if so, how "paleo" is the food? I always thought it was kooky to have large stores of food in your basement in case of mega-emergency, but it's not that illogical now that I think about it. After all, much/most of my food is refrigerated and frozen, and wouldn't last more than a week. As to the chances of a doomsday scenario...I guess it depends on how risk averse you are.
Well, that's all the kooky angles I can think of at the moment. Has anyone else thought about these things, even just to pass the time before 5pm?
