When I was young I would eat those liver spreads from the store on bread and I loved it. After that I never really ate liver again until my stop from raw veganism. I really enjoyed making the liver into a pate and remembered how good those liver spreads were when I was young. THe more liver I started eating the more I was deviating from Pate form and started to eat it in its whole form. I would make curries with it, make it with onions, and all sorts of things. Now I dont imagine me ever going back to eating pates. I love whole liver. Are any of you else like this also? Did you go from eating pates to liking liver in whole form better? I know it is the opposite for many people where they ate liver as young kids, and now enjoy them as pate.

I don't know if this answers your question, but there are a lot of foods that I liked as a kid, (or hated) that I either hate now (or love).

I think your palate and tastes change with age and experience.

I agree with Chinaeskimo that your palate changes as you age. I am eating things now that I would never have eaten in the past. As for liver, I still like it sliced, ground and mixed with ground chuck, and as a mash.

I like both. Maybe because I grew up with both?

Especially homemade chicken liver paté with mushrooms (wild boar when I can find it!) and sauteed lamb's liver.
