I have been following a paleo meal plan for one month. I feel great, want to convert a few friends and family members. I had my blood work done several months ago and would like to go back just to prove to my doctor that I am healthy - previously I was told that I am uninsurable due to having a BMI of 35 but with no health problems. My cholesterol was 205, fasting blood sugar was 97.
So, it's 3 months later, one month of paleo. Maybe 5 lb weight loss - wish that could be more. But if I go back and the numbers haven't changed or worse, have gone up, I'll never get insurance. What if...? (BTW, I have no plans to go back to carbs if the news is bad - truly, I have never felt so good).
Yours is the lifelong question about the lifestyle and results. If the results are ever less than what you are striving for, its time to evaluate your discipline with the diet. Unless you have some severe hormone disorder, there is no way Paleo will not yield results. How strict is your diet? What can you tighten up on? More omega3, sufficient magnesium/zinc/vit k/vit d supply? How well are you reducing prolonged stress, and cortisol? How are doing with your sleep? My wife went through the same doubts, and doubtable outcomes for the costar few weeks on Paleo, and since we tightened up, she has never looked back. Good luck.
