I don't currently own any food or diet books, but I have been thinking of purchasing The Primal Blueprint.

I have a 4th generation Kindle and it is obviously easiest and cheaper for me to just download the book to it, instead of ordering off Amazon and waiting for it, or driving to the nearest bookstore (southern town in the boondocks = full of people who don't read, therefore no book stores in the whole county). I've gotten some physics books on my Kindle, and while I still love reading them, I do kinda wish I'd gotten them in hard copy because I'm missing out on a lot of the nice color diagrams, pictures, charts, etc. I'm willing to order and wait or make the drive for this book if there would be a big loss in the digital version.

Does anyone have The Primal Blueprint on an e-ink reader, and do they like it in this format?

no book stores?...how sad :-( – MiMintzer Jul 17 at 23:02
It is! People ask me "Why are you reading?!" when I do it in public. In the city, the normal thing to ask is, "WHAT are you reading?" :) – Varelse Jul 17 at 23:08

The only color images in the Primal blueprint are the pictures of the success stories in the middle.

So you won't miss on that. But if you are like me, I like to highlight and denote sections of the book so I can research other opinions. I've never used a kindle, but the lack of color might make that difficult.

The Kindle does offer highlighting, noting, and bookmarking (though obviously it is a little bit harder than with a marker on paper, but isn't bad!) I have the least expensive version, but I bet with a Kindle Touch, Fire, or Keyboard it would be pretty easy. – Varelse Jul 18 at 1:25
I say go with the kindle version then! – CD Jul 18 at 1:56

The digital version of primal blueprint is called marks daily apple!

If I could download the entire content of the site without ads, comments, and external links... I might just agree. :) I do go to MDA a lot, though, and that's why I decided on Primal Blueprint instead of one of the other (great, I'm sure) book options. – Varelse Jul 17 at 22:05

I have Primal Blueprint on the Nook Color, and I like it this way. The charts are clear and nothing is lost to my eye. I think the actual book is a rather unwieldy size so of course the portability of the Nook makes digital a lot more desirable in this case, for me.

Thanks! Is there a lot of color? I only have black and white so I worry that it may make a difference. – Varelse Jul 17 at 22:02
Nope, no color involved :) – Miriam Jul 18 at 4:08

I've got it on kindle (is that the same?). I looked at the regular book in a book store and I don't see where it is missing anything. I buy so many books that the digital deal has become a real space saver. I have a small library room, but its been out of space for many years. Heck I've already gotten rid of my books from college and post grad.

Thank you! I also don't have a lot of room myself right now (my house is 2 rooms plus a tiny bathroom, lol) so that is helpful. I have several boxes of books in storage right now and only one small bookshelf full of my sci-fi anthologies and some of the classics and my nonfiction because I can't stand to be parted from them. I think I have a book fetish. :/ – Varelse Jul 17 at 22:22

I originally read it on my first-run NOOK! It was great; no color required :)

Buy the physical copy so you can pass it around to interested family members or friends one at a time after you've read it yourself.

You can loan it out on the Kindle, too. Any computer, most smartphones, and most tablets can view them as well as Kindles. Though my family members would never read it and I doubt many of my friends would, either, but I can always try. :) That is a great point, though! – Varelse Jul 18 at 1:53
Computers, smartphones, tablets...eh... :) – Invisible Caveman Jul 18 at 3:50
My dorky friends would probably prefer it that way! (Oh those Georgia Tech boys...!) But also, some of my best friends live up to four hours away, so I don't see them as often as I'd like. Electronic sharing might actually be easiest... plus, it is automatically returned to me after two weeks so I don't have to hunt them down or worry about not getting it back! – Varelse Jul 18 at 4:26
Great! whatever works :) – Invisible Caveman Jul 18 at 19:50

Read it on my Kindle. If I rennet correctly the was a chart that didn't flow very well unless I made the font smaller. Everything else was great. I like Kindle books because my Kindle fits in my purse and I always have it with me because it's light weight and I have the Kindle iPhone app, too. As much as I love real books, a Kindle or my phone is easier to tote about for lunch or gym or oil change time reading... :D and sometimes cheaper.

It is cheaper! I keep mine in my purse, too (my Kindle cover is a Crown Royal bag, I keep it gangsta). Agreed about the app, too, but I have an Android phone. Plus, I hate it when I'm out and about and I finish the book I'm reading and don't have another on hand to start! – Varelse Jul 18 at 6:17

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I prefer having a something tangible when I spend my money.

I want something I can feel and touch. If convenience is your concern, go for digital.

I feel that way a lot, too, but with no bookstores in the area (much less my favorite thing in the world, USED BOOKSTORES!!!) it became a matter of convenience and cost, plus the whole trees thing. But a lot of the stuff I read, mainly my love of retro sci-fi short story anthologies (yeah, I know, quite specific, but I am a nerd like that) just can't be gotten digitally anyhow. And... there is nothing like the smell of an old book! – Varelse Jul 17 at 22:04
You still buy CDs? or are you willing to buy digital media for music? – CD Jul 18 at 1:22
I don't even own a kindle, but I buy kindle e-books. They can be read on any computer. If I can get to a computer, no matter where I am, I can read an e-book. It doesn't even have to be my computer. – Talldog Jul 18 at 14:11
