Are you eating dairy? When I eat pasteurized dairy I notice a dramatic uptick in my skin's oil production. Acne also increases dramatically.
I can't remember if I had the same reaction with raw dairy, but it was very obvious with store bought dairy.. even organic/hormone free/whatever.
If you are, it might be worth it to try cutting it out and seeing if there is an improvement.
But, to answer your question, no I haven't tried a Kitavan style diet. After many tries and fails, I've finally come to accept that starches and I are not friends. (If you're curious about that, I talked about it here. I had the same reaction to potatoes as well.)
But if you digest starches well, I don't see why it would hurt to try it out.
