I'm trying to add some more protein into my diet and eggs are a good, cheap source of it. I know most hunter gatherers didn't eat many eggs because they're hard to find. How many eggs can I eat in one day before it becomes unhealthy?

I just had four strips of bacon and six eggs. I am still alive! – john_e_turner_ii Jul 21 at 19:08

Eggs are one of the healthiest foods available. They would only be unhealthy if 1) you have familial hypercholesterolemia, or 2) they begin to dominate your every thought, nagging at you to eat more until you eventually go into an egg-induced coma.

+1 for using "egg-induced coma" :) – Julia Jul 21 at 20:41

+1 And I'd add that if from eating them frequently, you notice any sensitivities arise that weren't there before, take notice! (Skin issues, digestive issues, thyroid stuff, etc.) – hannah Jul 22 at 4:50

How much time do you have? How many eggs? That's likely the limit.

Cool Hand Luke did 50 in one hour -- That might be an upper limit

I eat from 5-10 eggs a day. I am perfectly fine.

How creative are you? The possibilities with eggs are endless. I think the # of eggs you can eat in a day will be limited by your imagination and possibly boredom, if you eat enough of them.

I used to eat 6-12 a day everyday until my TC went to 570 or so. And it dropped to 220 60 days after stopping eating them. But that might just of been me.

My brother recently told me he upped his egg consumption from 0 to 28 per week, while also generally moving more paleo. HDL up, LDL down, TC unchanged, doctor happy (about the cholesterol -- my brother didn't mention about the eggs!). – Michael Jul 22 at 5:58
