Sometime in August I plan on getting a breast augmentation, which is around 2 months, but before then my doctor recommends I lose between 5-10 Kgs. Currently I am 5'6" and 165 pounds. I heard about the paleo through a friend, and have been reading up on it and seems really promising. So was hoping on some insight of whether I will have luck losing the weight I need to lose. I am planning to jog/run 5-6 days a week as well. How much do you guys think I will lose in 2 months?
Also...can I have black coffee on paleo? I know I can't have sugar substitute, but how about a natural sweetener like honey? Or what do you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance :)
Honestly, there's no way anyone can answer this for you. Some people are really strict, do everything "right", and don't lose an ounce. Other people lose a few pounds. Still others drop 20. It's individual and there are a ton of factors at play including your diet, amount of and type of exercise (jogging 5-6 days per week might not be advisable, by the way), metabolism, genetics, etc.
If you like black coffee, go for it. Some people are for honey, some people say to stay away. The more I'm into paleo, the more I realize that it's all about what works best for the individual. Experiment and see :)
Losing weight and losing body fat are two different things, Body fat takes a while. All the diet claimns of losing 20 lbs in two weeks is not from body fat - mostly cleaning out the intestents, some water and a less full belly. Cut out a lot of carbs, wheat and sugars until then and it will be a good thing...and between you and me- doctors no squat about food and diets.
Gee the poor girl just wants an answer. Do you all have to be so politically correct and nit pick at her statements. Khloe just asked you whether she thinks she can lose weight in that time. She didn't ask you about your opinion on her augmentation or her definition of overweight. If she wanted those opinions she would've stated that in her question. Gosh some people can be so aggressive about their nutritional opinions!
If you eat a low-carb, high-fat diet, you are likely to lose fat, paleo or not. How much, no one can say for certain, but perhaps more than calories-in-calories-out would suggest. Check out the documentary "Fat Head." http://amzn.to/M6pLZ8
Thank you everyone for your responses I really appreciate all the answers I have gotten and I will take all of them into consideration.
Disclaimer: 1. Whether the surgery is not Paleo or not, it's my body, and do not care to read your opinion on that matter. 2. I am NOT using Paleo as a "Quick-Fix". I'm starting a blog to track my progress, the months before, during, after my surgery and the years beyond that. I want to do Paleo because of all the amazing articles I've read on it and I hope to transform and cleanse my body. And quite frankly after reading up on it, I'm actually scared out of eating carbs! Lol. Also, if you read my current stats, I am grossly overweight, I need a lifestyle change regardless of my surgery or not.
Have a great day :) <3
