Has anyone tried these? Are they any good?

Not paleo, due to the cream cheese. But they should qualify as primal, right?

sounds tasty. I will try it sometime. – RaiseFitness Jul 24 at 15:19
I tried them, but they didn't come out good so I'll have to try them again before passing judgment. – Carl_Stawicki Jul 24 at 16:01
Make sure you eat them the next day. The first day they are kinda yuck. – Shari Bambino Jul 25 at 0:49

You can make the original Atkins Revolution Rolls with mayo instead of dairy. I like the original Rev rolls better than the oopsie variation, anyway. The oopsie recipes I've seen turn something that's pretty nutritionally solid into a calorie bomb.

Revolution Rolls

3 eggs, separated : 3 tbsp. homemade mayo : 1 pkg. sucralose/stevia (you can leave this out)

Preheat oven to 300°

I use the nonstick aluminum foil to line a cookie sheet; you can use a silpat, or greased parchment.

Separate eggs very carefully (make sure that none of the yolks gets into the whites).

Beat egg whites until whites are stiff but not dry. Fold in yolks, mayo, and sweetener. (Be extremely careful not to break down the egg whites. Mix for no more than a minute.) Place the mixture carefully on the cookie sheet to make 6 rolls. Place cookie sheet in the oven and bake for about 60 minutes don't take them out early, they need to get good and dry.

Cool completely before use. After cooling, place rolls in a plastic bag to store; this also improves the texture. I always make the rolls for next-day use.

I agree! I sort of hate that Dr. A doesn't get credit for this recipe. In all these years I have never seen Jamie acknowledge that this is his recipe. I see others doing this as well. Change the amount of salt in a recipe and all of the sudden it's your own creation. Blah. His was the best and remains so. – Shari Bambino Jul 25 at 0:48
Melimel, you have made me very happy by posting the non dairy version of this. – January Jul 25 at 3:26
She uses cream cheese instead of mayo. But if she got the idea from Dr. A., I agree, she should credit him. – Dave S. Jul 25 at 13:09
Okay, she did give credit (see below). I feel better now. – Dave S. Aug 21 at 16:07

I make a crepe with this egg/cr. cheese combo. For every egg an oz of cr cheese. Put it in the blender with vanilla and stevia. Pour a 1/4 cup onto a greased pan and let it cook til mostly dry around edges then flip. I like them cool.Tastes like cheese cake. One of my fave breakfasts!

You're going to have those negative Nellies that think Paleofied foods should be outlawed, but I, on the other hand, think I need something to wrap around my burger sometimes! I will definitely try these and hope for the best.

As an aside, I've made these with Melissa Jouwan's Moroccan Meatballs: http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/easy_brazilian_cheese_bread/ I've made them with Romano cheese and another batch with bleu cheese. They were both scrumptious and people were eating them as quickly as I could make them.

I made them recently and my daughter was able to use them to make a passable grilled cheese sandwich, which was surprisingly (to me) good. We'll be doing them again.

Faux-food, people. If you want a roll, eat a real one. If you want to eat primal, do that and avoid all this kind of stuff.

Simply terrible advice. First, what part of 3 large eggs, a pinch of cream of tartar or 3 ounces of cream cheese is faux? Second, if you want to eat a hamburger with your hands, this is a good way to go - although lettuce also works. Nothing about the oopsie roll contradicts eating primally. Are you only here to be a contrarian? Fine. But do yourself a favor and try to make some sense. Otherwise, you will get short shrift here. – Dave S. Aug 21 at 13:22
