All- I'm a 5'4 1/2", 150-155 lb female looking to lose 15 lbs or so on paleo. I crossfit 4-5 times a week, as well. I've had trouble in the past understanding how to make paleo and weight loss work. Any suggestions out there?
I had the same stats as you when I first started eating paleo. I lost 10 pounds in the first two months with a steady 1-2 pounds a week.
All I did was eat strictly paleo. I minimized my sausage intake, cut fruit to 1 serving per day and ate a limited amount of nuts. I eventually transitioned from tea w/ sweetener to water with lemon.
That's about it! It handled itself. Be sure not to overeat and keep your portions in mind. I ate whenever I wanted to and didn't stick to a breakfast/lunch/dinner mealplan.
Plan your meals ahead of time, and you can't fail! Make some food that will last you for the week (a london broil lasts me all week), hardboil a batch of eggs, etc.
I have the same stats too, in terms of height, current weight, weight loss goal and # of times per week at CF. I notice a lot of women at my box are about 5'4" height. I've been doing CF since January and I've actually put on weight, about 5lbs. I was seriously debating giving up CF thinkings for some reason my body was having some sort of bizarre reaction to this exercise and that I was thinner when I didn't work out. This, of course, is false. I have gained a good bit of muscle (I can see and feel it on my legs and upper body) but fat loss has eluded me. But, big surprise, I have not been eating as clean as I should. I have lost 2.75 lbs, over the past 10 days by focusing on the following:
1) Stick to below 100 grams of carbs 2) Eat my goal body weight in grams of protein 3) 4 meals a days (just so I can fit in all that protein!) 5) limit salt (I retain water like crazy) 6) one cheat meal in a 7 day time frame (one so far, a cheeseburger and fries) 7) also one 18 hour intermittent fast per 7 day period (did one as well, fared well, eat a regular meal when I broke my fast, did not gorge) 8) track all this stuff on ifitness 9) I also have a calendar on my bathroom wall that every night I "X" out a day in bright green that I meet my nutritional goals. I've strung 10 days together before in the past but I am saving my pats on the back for 21 days.
I've tried bits and pieces of this since January but consistency has been my issue. I also 2nd planning your meals. First of all, to eat all that protein, I have to plan. Second, it's been oddly releiving to know "okay, this is what I eat today. End of story." No thinking or guessing. I stink at reading hunger cues but if I am eating all this protein IO know I am not starving to death!
I wish you much success!!
I've lost about 15 lbs, and I find drinking a TON of water helps! I's 127 lbs (almost my goal weight) in one month, and all my health problems have disappeared. I've been gluten/dairy/egg/chicken free for over a year due to recently discovered allergies, but I just discover "Wheat Belly" by William Davis. On his forums he mentioned paleo, and it seemed like a great fit!
I'm bike-riding or kayaking here in the lakes region of Maine about 2 - 6 hours every 2-3 days because I like what I'm doing and find myself WANTING to be very active once I got rid of all the grains! No more pushing myself to get to a gym!
My stats are similar to yours, I did the same as Sleepyhouse22 and just stuck to paleo. I do make sure I leave 3/4 between meals with no snacks and at least 3 hrs before going to bed.
I'm 5.5 weeks in now and have lost 16lb, 12lb of them in the first 2.5 weeks, but at least it's going from the fatty bits!
Just keep at it, and don't overdo the nuts if you're eating them, I find more than 2oz a day and I don't lose weight. Hope this helps.
Worry a bit less about the weight number and more about what the mirror shows, you could be putting on muscle at the expense of adipose tissue.
Second, maybe lighten up on the CF to maybe 2-3 times a week and allow more recovery.
Third, work towards occasional intermittent fasting.
Fourth, make sure you get enough sleep every night
Fifth, get sufficient vitamin D through being in the sun.
I hvae been eating clean/paleo for the last 3 days (and swimming) and am not missing carbs etc yet but I am eating a lot of food. I suppose I am thinking that if I can get used to the healthier food I can cut it back later. I was feeling quite pleased with myself and so very much better because of that and some exercise until I weighed myself.
I just don't seem to have an "off" switch even on 100% good foods. I just the calories on the pecan nuts - 1038 calories. Why can I but not others eat that and feel fine, not over full at all and had steak at lunch time and 2 oranges and my usual meat and eggs for breakfast.
Someone will say give up nuts and fruit. I think I'd feel dreadful without any fruit. I don't have nuts every day. I suppose I also have PMT today and had some flights abroad and back so water retention but I certainly haven't lost any weight at all and yet it is so easy to put it on. I put on 28 pounds from the time about 2 years ago when i was eating clean before. Pehaps I can never be thinner again because being 50.
Many types of health care interventions are delivered outside of health facilities. They include many interventions of public health interest, such as food safety surveillance, distribution of condoms and needle-exchange programmes for the prevention of transmissible diseases. The increasing number of workers from Generation X and Generation Y also brings a new face to the field of nursing. Nursing has become a highly compensated field BLS data indicates the average annual salary for nurses was $66,530 in 2008. The nursing field is changing, thus incentives for retaining nurses also are changing to meet the needs of a diverse work force. Thanks a lot. Regards, Burton Lamoureux

As a basic framework for defining the sector, the United Nations International Standard Industrial Classification categorizes health care as generally consisting of hospital activities, medical and dental practice activities, and other human health activities.
