I know my favorite all-purpose seasoning I use to cook is not Paleo, but check out the nutrition facts... Is it okay to use? Or will it ruin my paleo-ness? (It has ZERO carbs! and mostly sodium)
Wow, I cant believe you asked that question on PaleoHacks!
The Paleo police will be at your house before sun down to revoke your Paleo licence and take away all of your Paleo privileges. Next time you try to buy coconut oil at Whole Foods, it will come up with a warning to the cashier that you have been black listed.
Can you not just make that yourself?
Buy some Salt, granulated garlic, oregano, black pepper and turmeric.
The ingredients are listed in order of most to least. I would be pretty confident that you would at least have salt and pepper already. Jars of turmeric and oregano will last ages in the cupboard and dried garlic can be bought from most super markets. Or use some fresh garlic.
Mix them together. BAM! Spice mix.
I don't think it matters unless you think your body is so pure and vulnerable that minuscule amount tricalcium phosphate or table salt will harm you. It's not, and it won't. don't worry about it, we're very resilient creatures.
Tri-calcium phospate: "It is also used as a nutritional supplement and occurs naturally in cow milk, although the most common and economical forms for supplementation are calcium carbonate (which should be taken with food) and calcium citrate (which can be taken without food)."
Straight from Wikipedia. Yes, to my shame, I've just used Wikipedia as a reference.
