I ate a bunch of dark chocolate (nearly 90% and 99%). I probably had about 600 calories worth. I think i just ate it too fast. Afterward I felt very sick, and the only thing that seemed to make me feel better was eating FRUIT. Why do you think this is??

Perhaps it's the sugar in the fruit. If you are used to or for whatever reason associate the flavour with that of 'less dark' chocolate then perhaps you crave fruit after not getting that pleasure from the 90% chocolate?

I dunno, but this the only possibility I've just managed to come up with ;)

It's a bit the same thing as eggs. The proteins (leucine) in eggs and chocolate are insulinogenic, promoting hypoglycemia if you don't eat it with sugar. You don't have to worry, the chocolate itself (or the eggs) are not unhealthy for you, they're just a bit hard to tolerate without adequate carbohydrates.

Usually I eat chocolate or eggs with a lot of orange juice or I cover potatoes in chocolate.

I think you may have simply overdone it. I eat 85% dark chocolate a few times per week and have no issues with sickness afterwords. Try keeping it to about 2 or 3 ounces at the most and maybe even eat it with a "little" bit of fruit. There is not too much better than dark chocolate with some raspberries.

Well it turns out the next day I craved fruit STILL, and nothing else. Just sugary stuff. So I ate a small sweet potato, 3 small apples, and 3/4 of a small watermelon. Finally I felt better, but jeez, I didn't think I'd have such bad sugar cravings after that! :/ I even tried to eat chicken thighs in a tomato sauce I made the other night but it just wasn't doing it for me. I was craving sugary carbs.
