Has anyone tried ConcenTrace Trace Mineral Drops? So many people raved about the positive effects of this supplement at the Amazon site, but it has left my mouth with the strangest taste -- almost like a film on my tongue somewhat reminiscent of the taste in the mouth that first accompanies ketosis. I haven't even gotten close to the recommended amount to mix with my water. Am I crazy or could a mineral supplement produce this effect?

I hate the taste. I was using them and switched to bone broth and mineral rich foods instead. I did add them to broth for awhile and they were much more palatable. Could not do it in water. Salty broth masks the taste better.

Thanks for the reply; I don't mind the taste when I'm drinking the water as long as I don't add too much, but there seemed to be an aftertaste the whole day! I have already been making and using bone broth regularly and I wondered if the drops were perhapes overkill. Great idea to add the mineral drops to my broth and that way I'm hopefully covering all my bases. Thanks. – crusennola Aug 6 at 16:21
BTW, I recently reopened a concentrace bottle and droppered them into a tall glass of natural calm (new to try for me). Even easier than into the bone broth. – Heather Aug 23 at 3:00

I add a quirt (5+ drops) to each cup of water I drink at work. I love the taste- gives it a sort of milky/ mineral taste IMO. Find the water hard to choke down in its natural (chlorinated/ fluoridated) state otherwise. Once acidently took a sip of the straight drops -> rancid horrible strong taste.

I was trying to figure out what the taste reminded me of and I came up with the same conclusion. The taste reminded me of the glass of warmed milk I used to take as a sleep enhancer. I'm glad you told me about the milky taste so I know I'm not imagining things. I guess the best thing to do it to keep it in my daily routine and get a blood workup in the future to see how my mineral profile looks. – crusennola Aug 6 at 16:27

Trace minerals are different than minerals. I've used ten a good half of my life. They're disgusting but effective.

Which 10 do you use, in what form? – crusennola Aug 6 at 16:22

I got this recently because i have constant cravings for minerals and salt in the summer snd wondered if i was getting deficient. Looking at the label, it is basically a salt solution made from salt from the great salt lake inthe US. I don't mind salt so the taste doesn't bother me which is like very faint sea water (in a good way). If the taste is too strong, just mix it with more water.

I have not notied any health improvements yet, though i don't feel quite as depleted after a brutal morning crossfit workout where i sweated buckets.

I also now use Himalayan salt which is supposed to be mineral rich and I love to make bone broth, so maybe I'm going overboard with the supplement! – crusennola Aug 6 at 16:23

i take a protein shake (mark's actually, the chocolate coconut), typically after my workouts, so i put the drops in it. can barely taste it up to about 25-30 drops per 10-12oz of shake.

given that i eat a decent amount of sardines and almonds, i don't need to put more than such amount in a shake (and ruin the flavor).

i've noticed a difference since i started taking it post workout, perhaps it's psychological, in terms of how my muscles feel post work out and recovery time. my 2 centavos, may not work for everybody (particularly if you're not really deficient prior to supplementation).

if you eat white rice, try putting a few drops in the water you cook the rice in. see how that goes.

cheers.

I agree with an earlier post: they are different than supplements found at grocery stores. When found by the right producer you should feel positive effects.
