I'm just wondering how many of you here have thought about how paleo can be beneficial towards slowing aging and if you have any specific ideas you want to contribute.

Well, you can go hard-core by trying Jack Kruse's ideas, but I'm more conservative and laid back, so, this is my anti-aging regimen: http://eugenia.queru.com/2012/03/25/my-anti-aging-regimen/ |

Slowing the aging process is as simple as improving your health. In my opinion, the majority of people age prematurely..I've seen obvious signs of this in the people I know..I don't think you can undo the damage that is already done but you can keep the majority of it from happening. I turned 50 this year so I'm interested in this topic. Here are some suggestions. Moderate your starch consumption and (definitely) sugar/fructose. Research terms: glycation and AGEs. Eliminate all processed packaged foods (common sense). Eliminate all polyunsaturated oils. Eliminate gluten. Try to balance omega 3/6 intake. Use cocount oil, butter, eggs and fish (make sure you get pleanty of fat soluble vitamins). Make sure your mineral intake is adequate.. Eat fermented foods frequently. Make sure you get pleanty of antioxidants. Intermittent fasting |

As david mentioned, intermittent fasting. CR is the best evidence based method for extending lifespan in all species it has been tested on including primates. |

The best intervention - paleo or otherwise - that I know to slow aging is, not surprisingly, fast aging. I realize it sounds counter-intuitive, but it works. |
