Each year my job requires I get a physical and the only thing that ever comes back high or low is my cholesterol (226) and HDL (74). However, I noticed that I was showing a low PLT (platelet count) of 169 and high Mono % (monocyte percentage) of 12.8. Not significantly high or low, but slightly beyond the range suggested. After doing some digging I noticed that this may be common in someone who has a chronic infection or immune disease. Any thoughts on these numbers and what it means? Does this merit additional testing?

PS.....the doctors notes do not address this issue in the report he filled out for my job.

It's probably not a concern unless you have repeat tests with similar (or worse) numbers. – Christine M. Sep 4 at 20:26
