This got me so mad I wrote the author Mindy Hermann a message on her Facebook. Maybe you all might want to do the same.

I did the same. I can't believe a registered dietitian would recommend garbage like that! – Chood5 Sep 15 at 3:22

I almost had a heart attack when I saw the suggestion to exchange butter for pam spray. Gross.

Numbers 2 and 9 seem pretty reasonable (substituting 70% dark chocolate and cocoa for semi-sweet chunks and using fresh herbs in place of Lowry's). The rest is junk.

I'm really not sure which is worse PUFA and soy filled mayo or sugar filled marshmallow creme?

This is why it is important to differentiate QUALITY of foods. The article says that the marshmallow creme has no fats which is why it's better. Well in this case I agree. no fat is better than soy oils and vegetable oils. But why is the "Registered Dietitian" not taking into account the sugar?

It's also so insane it is hurting my head. How about a big tub of lard. Eat that rather than either of the junk on that page.

So crazy! I was watching the Today show last week and their dietitian person (Not Joy but the other one?) promoted eating cracker jack over nuts. She was doing a similar piece "eat this, not that" type thing and said something like "stay away from nuts. Yeah, yeah healthy fats and all of that but loaded with calories. Stay away." She then holds up a bag of Cracker Jack and goes on about how much more beneficial that is over the nuts. I thought my head would explode.

"Use Egg Substitute, Not Whole Egg" ....I am about to cry. This is the type of website/magazine my mom would read. Good thing she knows better now :)
