Just gotta say... I LOVE THESE. I know making your own sweet potato fries is far healthier but sometimes I just don't feel like it... haha to say the least. On the ingredients of these babies though it does say "unbleached wheat flour" :( I would think the flour on them is minimal but I'm feeling guilty. If they are only had once a week can I still call myself paleo? haha thanks guys!

haha why are you worrying about what you can call yourself more than your own wellbeing? – Dan Sep 16 at 16:20
I guess I should've worded that differently haha. I'm 16 btw to whoever downvoted me. I was just wondering sheesh. thanks everyone else tho!! – Amber Sep 16 at 17:15

What does your age have to do with downvoting? – Varelse Sep 16 at 18:52
um maybe because you'd think people wouldn't be as harsh? I don't know as much as some of you folks out there and I'm still learning as we all are. honestly though I think it's rude to downvote anyone at all when this is supposed/or should be an open, friendly, online community. If someone's asking a question, why make them feel bad? – Amber Sep 16 at 22:47
Amber, if you are big girl enough to go in a public forum, you are big girl enough to take the lumps for asking a ridiculous question. Wheat is not Paleo, regardless of which framework you subscribe to. – MathGirl72 Sep 17 at 2:03

I'm not sure why this got downvoted.

Other than that, guilt shouldn't be a part of eating. If you like them, if whatever results you are looking for from Paleo are not being negatively impacted, I wouldn't worry. It's not a cult, with highly imposed restrictions. At least, it shouldn't be.

It's yet another ridiculous question with the OP trying to justify eating something they shouldn't. – MathGirl72 Sep 16 at 17:13

"if whatever results you are looking for from Paleo are not being negatively impacted, I wouldn't worry." Isn't one of the tenets of Paleo is that even if you feel fine eating SAD, you might not be down the road? That gluten etc cause cumulative damage over time that can cause disease? – Renee Sep 16 at 17:15

+1 Renee, excellent point. – Varelse Sep 16 at 18:53

To me, it should be about choice, and everyone should be choosing to what level they wish to follow the "diet" or not. I don't like to phrase things as "bad" or "shouldn't" because that leads to feeling bad, out of control, and guilty, and I think that's counter-productive. I am really compliant with the way I've chosen to eat, but if I actively and consciously choose to eat something outside of the diet, why feel bad? Why not focus more on the majority of positive choices I make? And a bit of flour sprayed on fries once a week? Ehn, it doesn't need absolution. – Crowbar Sep 16 at 19:05

I hear you about convenience, but there ARE pre-made sweet potato fry options like Ore-Ida and Alexia that use rice flour. Super easy AND gluten free, which is a step closer toward "Paleo" and less destructive to what you are doing with the rest of your week.

Sure.
Why only once a week, eat them everyday!
Wheat flour is the elixir of life.

hahah I wouldn't say that... unless you are just being sarcastic then haha of course! but yah I eat low carb >30 grams most days during the week, and usually have some carbs (potatoes, fruit) once a week. So thank you for your response! – Amber Sep 16 at 17:18
