My right hip drops about an inch lower then the left. I can feel knots throughout my glutes, front of thighs, back, inside, also lower back, shoulders, etc. This was probably caused from a lifetime of food allergies as when I don't eat as clean I can feel myself stiffen up. I stretch and can get my hips almost even (within 1/4 inch) but it will be back to an inch gap the next day. Also the knots in glutes are deeeep. I use one of those foam rollers with the spikes and they still remain. Any suggestions. Basically I probably have some form of fibromyaglia with uneven hips that causes al over body pain/knots and stiffness. Paleo helped a TON but I still hurt a lot

See a chiropractor. I had twisted hips, too. It could be a pelvic or a spinal problem, but the chiropractor will be able to tell you which and if he can help or not. Having adjustments really helped me with my hip pain (sitting still too long, sleeping at night, car travel... immobility really triggers it). A lot of places also do massage, which will help with the knots.

Also, my experience with chiros is that they crack you here and there for 15 seconds per articulation, and then expect this to work magic over the two weeks you're not seeing them, while tremendous forces are still at work in your body.

I strongly prefer a good osteopath, prescribing a precise set of exercices to be done regularly. That, at least, has recurring effect on your body, rebalancing muscle tension.

The bible of trigger points is Travell & Simons' Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction: The Trigger Point Manual (2-Volume Set) by Janet G. Travell and David G. Simons (Hardcover -Nov 1 1998)

The late Janet Travel was John F. Kennedy's physician.

The foreword Davies' book was written by Dr. Simons.

Travell and Simons rely more on cold-stretch and injection techniques, while Davies wrote a book more adapted to self-treatment and massage therapists. It is very well explained.

I went to 3 different chiros before I found my "home". Its same as medical doctors, you have to find one that is consistent with what you are looking for. – JayJay Sep 17 at 0:02

i would recommend looking into the Alexander Technique. it's generally used by performing artists (tho can be used by every and anyone) to cultivate ease in the body through intention and thought. it's studied one-on-one with a certified teacher, but there's a great book called Body Learning by Michael Gelb. i swear by it, practice every day, it's changed my physical life completely.

My hips twist easily. A PT should be able to show you how to fix the problem. My PT showed me and I have my husband help me. It's really easy, it's just not something I can describe easily. You need a qualified person to show you the steps.
