It does that to me too. Maybe due to having some small amounts of sugars. Unless it's unsweetened ( which to me is inedible by itself) it has small amounts. When I paleofy desserts I feel a little different in a negative way after eating them. |

Is it sweetened with sugar? I know I have a huge weakness for chocolate myself, but the sugary bars make me feel nauseous too, and aren't worth the money or the few moments of satisfaction. On cheat days/once a week, I'll buy dark chocolate that is sweetened with stevia only. There's plenty on Amazon that are sugar alcohol free if you're concerned about FODMAPS. There's also dark chocolate brands that are mixed with Maca if you wanted a lower caffeine/chocolate content in general but still want that chocolate fix. If you're eating sugar free chocolate, then it's more likely a sensitivity to the caffeine content. Or, as was also mentioned, sometimes it just tunes in dopamine receptors in a way that will lead to a mood swing. Again, a good idea here would be to save it for cheat days or special days, where you can afford to feel crappy for a little while if you're willing to put up with it. |
