I plus oned you for having the courage to come on here and ask that question in the first place, of which, the answer is a resounding yes, physical changes can be at least partly reversed once the victim recovers emotionally. Any specific questions we might be able to help you with? – Bill1102inf Sep 17 at 1:30
How is this an appropriate question for PaleoHacks? – MathGirl72 Sep 17 at 2:00

I have worked in psychiatric settings with many adolescents and adults with terrible histories of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. I am very sorry if you or someone you love has been exposed to anything like that.

To the best of my understanding, no one knows the answer to your question, because the research is hard to do. It has been demonstrated that people who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder because of abuse show significant changes in brain chemistry and structure. I don't know of any good research about reversing those physiological changes.

On the other hand, I have seen people recover and develop a remarkable degree of resilience. I see no reason why a paleo diet and lifestyle could not be an excellent component of that kind of change. Best wishes.

Great answer, and just to add my own...any previous mental or physical damage may or may not be reversed....however a focus on healthy activity and lifestyle can not be detrimental and only improves the chances of a reversal occurring. – JayJay Sep 17 at 1:00

If the physical change is death, then no, that can't be reversed. I don't think Paleohacks is the site for this question. Please get help if you need it.
