Here are a list of supplements/vitamins/etc. that I take daily and are recommended to take with food:

  • Omega 3s
  • Multi-Vitamin
  • Extra Vitamin D (sometimes Vitamin C)
  • Super Enzymes (just started)
  • Probiotic

I don't eat breakfast much and I'd rather not bring a bunch of pills like these to work for my lunch hour..so I usually take after dinner.

My questions is, is it ok to take so many at once? Do they lose effectiveness or conflict with each other by dumping all down my throat within a 5 minute period?

Thanks,

out of interest, how's your sleep? some people report that certain supplements worsen their sleep when taken late in the day – daz Sep 22 at 4:46

Fat soluble vitamins and supplements should ideally be taken with a fatty meal for best absorption. Multivitamins are best absorbed on an empty stomach but often they can cause an upset stomach. If so, then it's ok to take them with food. I would take the enzymes before a meal so they can do their job (break down proteins) and the probiotic should probably be taken on an empty stomach or with a light meal so that they can stick to your gut.

Like daz said, follow the instructions on the bottle.

I don't think that they are going to per se interfere with each other. I just think that there are optimal times to take each of those. – MiMintzer Sep 22 at 16:56

Some probiotic products and some enzymes products will actually say to take 'on an empty stomach'.

As i say, some, not all, so check what the instructions say on the bottle.

the multi has both fat and water soluble vitamins in it (A,D,E,K)... hence why your D says take with food.

that the rest say take with food to avoid the chance of feeling sick due to taking them on an empty stomach. i usually puke if i take a multi in the morning.
