Hi everyone,

I'm just wondering if I should continue to supplement with Vitamin K2. I take 120mcg per day of MK-4. But I also eat 1-3 raw pastured egg yolks and grass-fed ground beef daily, homemade frozen grass-fed liver pills every other day or so, and fermented vegetables (monthly, not Natto though).

What do you think? Would my diet cover my needs? Or should I continue to supplement for now as I still have minor skin issues.

It might be important to note that I have a history of acne (I'm just about clear!) and live in Canada.

Thanks!

When everything is in balance and the body can exist in perfect rhythm with the environment (the way it was supposed to run) then there wouldn't be a need for any supplement except food.

But my guess is that you don't live in a unlit, uninsulated grass hut in African and hunt for food everyday and therefore could use a little supplemental help. :)

Your diet is definitely high in K2 which is great but I would err on the side of caution and suggest to keep taking your supplement until goals are reached 100%. So many small things like touching plastics, breathing car fumes, checking your phone at 10:30p, brushing your teeth, not eating dirt covered food...etc etc put extra stress on the body.

I would recommend this article on vit k by Chris Masterjon, it's pretty awesome. I personally eat a diet similarly high in k2 but still supplement rather aggressively. I take around 5mg a day most days, with my D and A. Note that this is an attempt to correct a D deficiency identified in my most recent labs, so YMMV.

Do you mind sharing which brand of K2 you take? – PaleoDel Sep 22 at 20:27
I take the Thorne K2 drops. iHerb and amazon both have them I think. – j3wcy Sep 23 at 0:45
