Howdy folks:
I haven't been a member here long, but I've read enough to respect the opinions & criticism put forth by this board. So now that I'm done buttering you folks up, I'm reaching out for opinions & to gauge the possible support for an idea/product my partner & myself are considering pursuing. We're firm believers in working smarter though and felt not leveraging this and other resources would be foolish. So here's the pitch:
In the UK there's maybe a handful of commercially available snack foods and/or eateries that are paleo friendly (regarding snack foods I can actually only think of one, Nakd Bars). What's fuelling this venture, perhaps unfortunately, is raw anger. I'm so pissed-off with every 'healthy' option pedalling whole-grains, or jamming their product with fructose (nakd bars, love 'em for being raw - but 50% dates? That's a spike!)
We've been experimenting with a handful of recipes in-house. Almond-flour based baked goods, coconut sandwiched walnut slices, others based around higher percentage & quality cocoa etc. The problem with hand-made, genuinely natural products has proven to be its shelf-life. We would need to package (they would obviously be professionally finished in our signature packaging) and ship them in a timely fashion, their shelf-life though would be understandably shorter than a pack of digestives, but the idea is to provide the community with a responsible, GI balanced product that they could consume in times of hunger pang (I understand that it shouldn't happen - but I know I cram nuts by the palm full at least twice a week) and not need to feel like they've cheated themselves (and God forbid fall into the "Ah, I've ruined myself for the week now... screw it" cycle).
So if this sounds like something you'd care about or would like to see come to fruition please let me know by preferably filling out this four question survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FBQRTW2 but alternatively by simply giving me a +1 or not in response to this post. Many thanks!
If we get a positive response you can rest assured that I'll keep you all posted on the progress in the coming weeks.
Thanks for your support. Kyle
