I am doing a big daily dose of iodine/iodide (Dr. Ron's Iodine Complex) 36mg at one time (with dinner). I am doing such a big dose for my fibrocystic breasts and polycystic ovaries. I am actually awaiting blood tests results for hormonal irregularities too. In the interim, I have started getting a million white heads on my chin. I know acne on the chin is a sign of hormonal imbalance and Iodine promotes estriol conversion. Do you think the new found acne means too much estriol or perhaps detoxification?
Any thoughts/experiences are very much appreciated!
i got the typical "bromide" acne on my forehead from dosages above, say, 6mg of IOSOL a day. i even went up to 50mg/day for a few weeks, but couldn't maintain the dosage due to a low-grade skin inflammation developing on the whole body. now i'm off iodine since a few months, but some acne still is visible on the forehead (i guess there is still a lot of iodine stored now in the tissues). so, if i were you, i'd keep the dosage on a level were you don't experience any side effects, and only increase it slowly, if at all. also, switch to a product you can dosage very granularly, like the mentioned IOSOL drops.
