In all of the peoples that had a gall bladder removed because they "had-to",did the educated "official" ever suggest taking 5000mg-8000mg of L-Ornithine,which is about a dollar and rapidly opens the duct!?

Study and/or proof? (I am sure you probably mean the sphincters, not the duct itself, in which case pure fats would do the same job, but if not, id love to see some evidence) – Jamie Oct 13 at 14:17
What about for a dilation of the common bile duct that's most likely due to a gallstone? Would that work for something around 1 cm? – Sataran Nov 24 at 7:27

In my case, I 'had to' because I had a gall stone the size of a quarter blocking my duct. Doubt taking anything would have helped in that case.

I had undiagnosed gallbladder symptoms for well over 10 years - at the age of 27, it had to come out. It was honestly the worst pain of my life.

Do you have experience in this area? Supposedly bodybuilders use L-Ornithine to produce HGH naturally. I've heard it being used to flush gallstones. My aunt possibly has a gallstone and I'm thinking about suggesting this, as anthing invasive at her age is too risky.

I so wish I knew this back in 2000 when I had mine removed. Was the worst mistake I've made health wise. Wish I could go back and sue the doctor.

Raydawg, you probably would have needed it out even though. Mine was blocked, full of spots, and the bile had turned to sryup. All the GB does is give a burst of liquid salt to your food so that oil and food can be seperated for process. So now I have to take an extra step when I prepare ground beef, and run water over it to seperate the oil out.

Why would you run water over ground beef to separate the oil out? Oil isn't water soluble. I don't know that I had to have it out or if it was standard procedure to just remove the whole thing because of gallstones. Since you've had yours out, you're probably better off taking ox bile and betaine HCL containing digestive enzymes such as Now Super Enzymes - that's what I do. – raydawg Mar 31 at 18:15

I lost my gallbladder due to a 5 cm stone blocking the duct. The doc asked if he could keep it because he wanted to write it up. :-)

I have no difficulty with fat, even if I eat tons of it. I take no supplements either.

What I have trouble with is refined carbs. I do pretty well with tubers and starchy fruits, but I just can't get along with processed carbs.
